Leisure free from sexist violence

Punto de Vista has signed up to the Pamplona City Council initiative for leisure free of sexist violence, taking on the commitment to construct safe, respectful and inclusive cultural spaces. This initiative is set down in a protocol for preventing and acting on sexist violence in festival and leisure venues, to which Baluarte has adhered, promoting a model based on awareness-raising, prevention, education and coordination against violence of this kind. Its aim is to assure equal rights for all and equip cultural venues with effective tools to prevent violence, protect its victims and respond appropriately to any situation that might arise.

Punto de Vista, also encouraging all its partner venues to do the same, takes on board and applies the principles of this protocol. This means an active commitment to raising audience awareness, reviewing festival venues and dynamics and taking structural measures to favour safe environments. Moreover, Baluarte staff members have received specific training to identify, prevent and act against situations of sexist violence, in line with the criteria laid down in the city initiative. At the venues associated with the festival, the audience can identify this adhesion through visible information signposting that states their active commitment to violence-free leisure.

In order to support effective implementation of the protocol and ensure an appropriate response, the festival makes available a series of resources designed to provide guidance and support for both the audience and employees.

If you suffer or witness a situation of sexist violence, you can fill in the questionnaire provided here and contact Teresa Morales de Álava, the person responsible for this initiative at Punto de Vista, by telephoning +34 948 066 195 or emailing puntodevista@nicdo.es.
