Accessibility

Thanks to the Universal Accessibility Plan in place since 2023 at Baluarte, the main venue for Punto de Vista, the festival works to ensure that everybody has the same opportunities to take part.

The event has taken a series of steps aimed at boosting different aspects of accessibility:

1. Auditory accessibility

Auditory accessibility is aimed at people who are deaf or have hearing difficulties, including those who use hearing aids or cochlear implants. The following facilities exist at Baluarte:

  • Magnetic loops. These are devices for use by people with hearing aids or cochlear implants. When there's a loop in a place, people wearing hearing aids or implants hear the message without background noise. Magnetic loops aid communication in places where there's a lot of noise.

At Punto de Vista, they will be available at all the sessions held in the Cámara, Gola and Bulevar venues.

To use both the vibrating backpacks and the magnetic loops, you must request them in advance, before each session. You are recommended to go along early.

  • Subtitles and sign language. Furthermore, most of the sessions at the festival have subtitles, and the opening and closing sessions will have interpreting in sign language.

2. Physical accessibility

Physical accessibility is primarily for people with reduced mobility, such as for example wheelchair users or people with a walking frame or crutches. At Baluarte, in the Cámara room and in other parts of the building, there are disabled toilets and lifts. In the car park there are spaces reserved for the cars of people with reduced mobility.

Likewise, front-row seats can be booked for people with disabilities in the different venues, as can specific places for people with reduced mobility. Moreover, people with sensory disabilities can also ask for front-row seats to make their experience easier. The people accompanying them can get in free.

See plan of Baluarte.

3. Visual accessibility

Visual accessibility is for people who are blind or have limited vision. Baluarte is equipped with NaviLens technology to support signposting for people with visual difficulties.

You'll find NaviLens codes at different points around Baluarte, to tell you where you are and how you can get to different places, for example the entrance doors, the box office, the toilets and the most important rooms.

4. Concessions policy

The festival offers discounts for unemployed people, in order to facilitate access to its programme. These tickets must be collected at the festival box office, showing the job-seeker's card.
