Ricercata

A section that delves into the searches and experimentation of cinematic language, whose name —from the Italian, ricercare, “to search”— is inspired by 16th-century musical compositions characterised by their exploratory style. It consists of three programmes: a spectacular journey through the history of experimental 3D cinema —“Forever Young: Cinema in Relief”—, the creation of cinema collectively —“Cinema in Common”—, and the exhibition of suggestive films from our immediate context, with the filmmakers explaining their work processes —“Termitas”—.

The frames shift through space and time, situating the familiar imaginary alongside dream, suspending certainties. “el azul de la distancia” is an installation that alludes to a dreamlike and desirous state. From that horizon, the artist maría hidalgo explores inherited footage that finds a delicate balance.
