An autobiographical collection of instances that describe the action of living in a post-industrial landscape, the end of a love story and the politics of what is private and what is public. The camera, as a device for recording and recollection, goes beyond evoking the past to become a tool for the appearance and exorcism of spectres.

Alexandra Cuesta

Alexandra Cuesta is a filmmaker and visual artist who lives in Ecuador and the United States. Her work is often based on the public sphere and combines experimental film traditions with documentary practices, with an emphasis on the formal considerations of 16mm film. Some of the recurring ideas in her work examine social structures, urban spaces and the relationship between the camera and the object/subject. Her films have been screened in festivals such as the New York Film Festival, Cinema Du Réel, FIDMarseille, BFI London, Oberhausen, Courtisane, Valdivia and also at the Anthology Film Archives, Image Forum Tokyo, and Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, among others.
